Groundsmiths is a consulting engineering practice based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Established in 2009 we have close working relationships with a client base of private individuals, developers and builders who are involved in the regeneration of brownfield and greenfield sites for commercial, industrial and residential end use.

Our work is centred around providing a bespoke engineering solution to problems associated with the redevelopment of land that is often affected by historic mining legacy, geotechnical issues, and contamination. We encompass all aspects of site characterisation and land appraisal, geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigation and the design and implementation of remediation solutions.

We also continue to establish close working relationships with partner companies from Chesterfield and surrounding areas and draw upon their expertise where required; these include civils & drainage, architects, planners, surveyors, structural engineers, pilers and demolition contractors.
